About this stone: Lavender Amethyst

Lavender amethyst is a trade name for amethyst, the purple variety of quartz (SiO₂), in a soft, pale lavender tone. The Japanese retailer Pascle uses the name for pale lilac to lavender amethyst (a trade claim). A 2024 study from the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) describes a new type of amethyst sold as lavender amethyst whose main distinguishing feature is a milky texture, and found that the existing material had been heat-treated.
