About this stone: Apatite

Apatite is the name of a group of natural calcium phosphate minerals, not a single species; most gems sold as apatite are fluorapatite. It is the reference mineral for hardness 5 on the Mohs scale. Transparent crystals in blue, blue-green, green, yellow and violet are faceted, while translucent material is cut as cabochons and beads.
