About this stone: Mahogany Obsidian

Mahogany obsidian is natural obsidian, a volcanic glass, in which reddish-brown and black glass are swirled or banded together. The reddish-brown color is due to iron impurities, generally tiny crystals or inclusions of iron oxides such as hematite or limonite. It is untreated natural rock, not a mineral and not man-made.
