Aventurine (pink)

Pink aventurine is a pink to reddish-brown colour variety of aventurine, a natural quartzite or quartz rock whose small platy inclusions can make it glitter (aventurescence). Its pink tones come from flakes of lepidolite mica or from the iron oxides hematite and goethite. The Japanese retailer Pascle describes the stone it sells under this name as pink to brownish red. It is a natural rock, not goldstone glass and not sunstone feldspar.
