White Buffalo (Wild Horse)

White Buffalo is a trade name for a white stone with black to brown matrix from Nevada, USA, often sold as "White Buffalo Turquoise" or "white turquoise". It is not turquoise: tested samples contained no copper or phosphate and proved to be natural carbonate rock, identified as magnesite with dolomite by Geology.com's X-ray diffraction and as aragonite with dolomite in independent infrared tests. Because the composition is not fixed, Geology.com recommends the name "White Buffalo Stone".
