Fluorite, also called fluorspar, is the calcium fluoride mineral CaF₂, a halide. It occurs in a very wide range of colors, including purple, green, blue, yellow, pink and colorless, and crystals are often color zoned. It defines hardness 4 on the Mohs scale.
