Spectrolite
Spectrolite is a locality and trade name for natural labradorite, a plagioclase feldspar, from the Ylämaa area of south-eastern Finland, where it occurs in a dark rock and shows unusually strong iridescence in the full range of spectral colors. The Geological Survey of Finland calls it the gemstone name of this rainbow-colored plagioclase feldspar, and Mindat lists it as a variety of labradorite. The name is also used for the dark spectrolite-bearing rock quarried as natural stone.
